Hey there TFD-ians - We're Over Here.

GG and I were chatting last night about her leaving TFD, and about all the good 'uns who have already left. While its all very well to take one's bat and ball and go home, in some ways its like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face: - one sheds the problem-people, but, at the same time, one also loses the good people.

When I first joined TFD there was a good crowd and though, we are all from different places in life, we all managed to entertain, enlighten, amuse or get up one another's noses in a much less stressfull way than the way things are now. Most of those people are now gone or only pop in on the odd occasion and hey, we miss you.

So we were wondering if we could set up a space of our own somewhere where we could all still chat and muse and ask for help. However, knowing first hand how long and how expensive it is to set up a web-site, we thought perhaps those who wanted could continue to keep in touch here for the time being?

O.K., so: the biggest draw-back here is that at the moment, this being my space, its only set up to publish posts from me. Its interactive, so people can make comments and converse once that's done, but it means that no-one else can make the original post. I think there is a way around this, but first we need to see if anyone is interested?

I also remembered - after I had been cut off for some strange reason - but did not get to mention to GG, that there is still that Book site I once (rather cheekily) advertised on TFD. It has only just started and, at the moment, only Nigel and I have done book crits. and put them up. But that, too, is an interactive site. Anyone can post or comment. So anyone who is into books might be interested in that, too? I would love to hear what people think about the books I have mentioned. Also, we would love to start a Reading Club as well so that all of us could discuss the same book. So that's another possibility.

I'm sure that people have their own favourite site and fora so it would be great if they
could share those here for us. As you'll see, I have put up a couple next to this box, but only a couple are interactive.

So this is only a feeler which I promised GG I'd put up today. We would love to hear what the rest of you think? cheers.

GG (and others) all you have to do is press the "comment" sign to leave a message - GG I know you visited here already, it'd be good if we could get a convo going here? Cireena

So good to know you as Cireena, Romany -- although I've been a fan of the Romany since I learned who they are during my rebellious teen years. Thank you for inviting select FreeDELFians to your blogsite. I'm honored to attend the party. It's unlike me to arrive early, but I'm carrying a case of red wine in each arm, so it was imperative that I get a move on -- muscle . . . ouch, ouch . . . fatigue, you know.

A toast to our venture on this site and forthcoming adventures here, there and where they might transpire. May we share good times, voracious laughter, healing narratives and insightful discourse in diverse and empathetic company. To our inspirational host, to fellow FreeDELFians and to intelligent devotees of thought and feeling, Salud!

..and then there were three! Glad you found us, Grady - but there is a problem. See, Spring decided it was summer today, we're out by the pool and I've learned from experience what drinking red wine in the sun can do to my head!

Perhaps someone else will come along with some chilled Chardonnay?

But, meh! A little sip of the red while we're waiting?

Now lets see if anyone else turns up, or if we will have to drink all this by ourselves!.c

Hii! Got GG's email this morning and jumped here. Good idea. Is this meant to become Tortilla Flat or Cannery Row? (They are published in Finnish as "House of Friendship" and "Good People's Party")

Hey guys, nooblet here. Not sure how often I'll be stopping by, as I recently started a new job after losing my old one, and have been very enthusiastic about furthering my knowledge in the specifics I'll be using for programming solutions for the hospital I'm working for. I find that there is simply not enough time each day to getting around to doing everything I want to do (an observation I made back in high school and has yet to change), but I will do my best to stop by frequently.

Travis helped me understand a few things, most importantly that blogspot is owned by google so that has an impact on my interaction here. Anyway, he had to leave our little chat and go talk to his girlfriend. The nerve! So I'm on my own here testing out this thing.

GG (for now, until I see how this actually shows up on the blog comment page)

Sorry about all the deletions. I thought I would be cleaning up the mess of all of my experimental test runs being signed in in different ways. Instead, it left a mess of "deleted" comments.

It was worth it for me, though, because I understand a lot more than I did about an hour ago.

There is also a bunch of free forum hosting services out there. I'm gonna study some of them. Having wide-ranging discussion in a blog system is difficult.

I'll let you know if I bump into something promising.

Guys - I'm sorry, I have been ill. I expect most of you know by now what form that takes with me.
So. Now that (at least to-day) I am back in the land of the living (heh-heh)I feel like Rumplestiltzken: I see the world has managed to moved on without me - if not quite for 100 years!
By now I have the address of the forum you've got happening and have had a little shufti. I shall definitely join. If not, perhaps, today. Also (does this ever vary?) I have no computer again. Well, last time I had a computer but no Internet: now I have Internet but no computer.
Was only too pleased to act as a temporary stop-over: I kind of feel as though a couple of friends had met up on my verandah and (In the immortal words of Jed Clampett:-"Set a spell".
I shall be re-igniting this blog too very shortly so you're welcome to drop by anytime. Cheers.
